Childhood memories

Dear NI2 students,
As we commented The House on Mango Street and the writer's recollection of her childhood, I'd like you to write down your own memories of a scene that happened to you when growing up. Try to put one of your stories into three short paragraphs. Your story can be about anything you have a vivid memory of.
You may use the following vocabulary. You can drop your recollections in this post. How about doing it orally as well?

There used to be a family who…
I vaguely remember a little boy/girl who…
I vividly remember / I have a vivid memory of …
The chapter brings back memories of…
I used to know somebody who…by his/her name slips my mind…
Everybody knew that….but nobody dared to…
I knew this person who … / I had this friend who…
I remember + -ing

Mornings

As every day the flies are flying overhead noisy. They always wake me up. I go out of bed and I go looking for my grandfather, he is outside each morning. My little cousin is still sleeping upstairs.

I like going out of the house, there are a lot of animals and sometime there is one I dont know. One day we saw the poor, black mole. It had its nose bleed. You must not touch it, my unkle said. The poor mole rested a little bit and went back into its dark mound. I think it had to strike his nose against a stone, there are a lot of them in the ground.

When I meet my grandfather he is feeding the chickens. He says, go to bed, it is too early for you to get up. But I think that only my very little cousin is sleeping, and it is too late to get back to sleep.

I have a vivid memory of two teachers who make me remember my first a lovely memories about school.I was only 4 and that was the first time a left mommy to go to school and there I found Gloria.

Gloria used to draw for us beautiful faces of woman with different hairstyles. She invented a traffic light, a red circle on one side and green one on the other so that we knew when the toilet was unocuppied.Gloria made us learnig playing as when we interpreted a musical about the Maya bee.

Lourdes was my first English teacher and she taught us language too, I was only 6.I remember hearing my mother taking about her as a very very polite and charming woman and indeed she was. Lourdes was in her classes as she was in real life. She always greeted with a smile in her face and I know it was a sincere smile.I vividly remember my first English book a white and square on with a foot guard painted in the bookcover.

Both taught me to be creative and polite, now I know I will always remember them.

Where I live there used to be a big park. There we played a lot. We had two little sticks as goalposts to play football. We had a lot of fun in these days.
But I vividly remember a bad moment there. When I had my snack always the same dog beat me time and again. Or the times when I was afraid and I ran and the big dog followed me burking the loudest it can.
And there were too my friends, these friends who laughing about these situation, and that I later noticed than they aren’t really good friends at all. When we grow up we learnt that only one or two of these are really good friends, those who will be when you laugh but also when you cry.

The summer, I used to spend one week of summer holydays Bahabón de Esgueva " my village", during this term, was used to go "the village" overall during the Village´s celebrations.

I vividly remember the nights, we stayed playing in the main square till later, with no preocupations and no time to arrive home. One of the most popular plays that summer (I was 10 years old) was " the plans" were the people were divided in two groups, one have to draw with chalk a plan on the floor, and scape. And the other tried to recognice their plan, to chase and catch them.

The funniest thing was when the plan it was our turn and try to scare the other group tetting them out to the cementery.

Where I live there used to be a lawn with a big stone where I played football with my three brothers, and we scaled the stone too.

I have a vivid memory of my brother Antonio who brought me a cartepillars´s nest. He liked to look for them but I hated them!

I vaguely remenber a little girl who called Carolina. She used to play with us and I was very happy because there was a girl with me!!, not only my three brothers.

When I was a child, I used to eat badly because I only like some food like pasta, chicken steak, fried potatoes and omelette. My sister and me had lunch in the kitchen during my mother cooked or cleaned.
My mother didn’t let us leave the kitchen unless we ate all the food. I vividly remember throwing food behind the washing machine when I didn’t like it and my mother wasn’t there at that moment.
My sister was astonished but I blackmailed to beat her if she told mum something. One day the washing machine broke and my parents found all the food when they moved it. My sister told the truth and I was punished.

When I was a child I used to play with my neighbors every summer night. I live in a residencial area where the kids have the same age more or less.
After dinner we went out to practise our favourites games. For example we used to play "hide-and-seek", "runnings of the bulls", "processions",etc.
I liked when we played a lot of people because I never used to count to "hide-and-seek".
I vividly remember one night when it waa stormy and there were thunders and lightnings. We took refuge in one of my neighbors house and we started telling horror stories. I remember that the next night I couldn't sleep lonely.
Every year we have a party in the neighborhood to remember all these stories and eat together.
