I've written this little entertainment with a lot of cats:

-Why didn't you come to my friend's party? It was the cat's meow!
-Ah, yes? Some people said me that dinner looked like something the cat dragged in and the host looked like the cat that ate the canary.
-I don't think so! It's true my friend like playing cat and mouse with people but he never was a copycat. He's really a nice and loyal guy. Besides dinner was superb! There was a lot of food and drinks left over!
-Is he a fat cat now? I Know he lived in a flat that there is no enough room to swing a cat five years ago.
-Let the cat out of the bag...

-... He won the lottery. Later his wife died.
-I remember his wife -she was a very arrogant and bossy woman. Besides your friend was always a fraidy cat.
-So you know, when the cat's away the mice will play. Now he's having parties every week.
-Oh my God! When you are a fifty-old man, it's like herding cats.
-I suppose he might have several cat naps every evening. I don't mind it, it's his life -curiosity killed the cat. And what about you? Has the cat got your tongue?

(I think there are all expressions with 'cat'. It's a joke!).

...the mice will play

My favorite expression with cat is: when the cat's away, the mice will play.
I had never heard this expression and I think it's the funniest of tall that I have read.
