Tenses

Dear NI1,

In these links from the New English File (Intermediate) web site, you can practice the different tenses we've seen so far:

- Present Simple/present continuous 1
- Present Simple/Present Continuous 2
- Past Simple/ Past Continuous
- Present Perfect
- Time expressions
- Modal Verbs
- Have to/ be allowed to
- Modal verbs of probability (Past)
- Modal verbs of probability (Present)
- Questions with "like"

Vocabulary: Prefixes and suffixes

I´m afraid that the link of modal verbs of probability (present) is the same as the link of modal verbs of probability (past) so I guess there must be a mistake.

Is it possible that the first exercice ("present simple an present continuous 1" corrects wrong?
Can you do it to chek it?
Thanks!

Hi there!

You know what, Eve? Sentences in the present continuous are contracted, that is to say, the sentences are meant to be spoken, so they need to be shortened: "I'm listening" or "He's speaking". It's a question of style. And style starts being important in this level.

Thanks for telling me!
